Fine Art & Creative Photography
My work explores the fragile boundary between self and form, how identity is shaped, constrained, and continuously negotiated through the gaze of others.
Working across photography and mixed media, I create images that do not remain images. They are printed, altered, embedded, and made to carry weight. Faces dissolve, merge with textures, or become inseparable from the materials that surround them.
I am interested in the moment when representation begins to fail, when an image stutters, when it can no longer fully hold a person. In that instability, something more honest begins to surface.
Each series is a variation on this tension: between visibility and erasure, intimacy and distance, permanence and decay. The work does not aim to resolve these contradictions, but to hold them.

About the Artist
I’m JJ Jordan, a visual artist based in Surrey, UK. My practice weaves together fine art and creative photography, drawing inspiration from literature, surrealism, and the everyday complexities of memory and emotion. Each piece I create is a personal exploration, an attempt to capture the unseen narratives that shape our inner worlds.
