I’m interested in the way we instinctively identify, judge, and categorise people through our own experiences, expectations, and biases. Rather than truly seeing someone, we often fit them into familiar frameworks that help us make sense of them. In that process, we don’t just observe identity, we actively shape it.
At the same time, we also shape ourselves in response to the gaze of others. We adjust how we present ourselves, consciously or unconsciously, anticipating how we will be perceived. Identity becomes something performed and negotiated, turning even ordinary encounters into subtle acts of construction.
Here are some prints from the series.
